On Monday, March 17, the Senate Committee Environment and Energy Committee heard S216, which “Directs Department of Agriculture to advertise and promote State aquaculture products through Jersey Fresh Program; establishes annual $100,000 appropriation; appropriates $100,000.” The annual appropriation would be an addition to Jersey Fresh funding. The bill was passed by the Senate Committee and referred on to the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee.

Also in the Senate, Senate bill S3890 was reported favorably out of Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee with conclusion of "likely have no fiscal impact."

This bill “Requires public institution of higher education to provide students with information on food assistance programs.” Its sponsors are Senators Ruiz and McNight.
