WEEK OF MAY 20
Last week NJFDC representatives were in the State House providing testimony for A4132, which prohibits certain substances in sale, distribution, and manufacture of commercial foods for human consumption. The bill was advanced from the Assembly Committee for Children, Families, and Food Security.
A4418 - This week, a bill was introduced that would provide supplemental funding to the Department of Agriculture, an additional $500,000 for the Jersey Fresh marketing program. Our position is that this funding is sorely needed. NJFDC is fully-supportive of this bill. It was introduced by Assemblyman Sauickie of District 12 and co-sponsored by Assemblywoman Aura Dunn of District 25. As of May 20, the bill does not have any Democratic co-sponsors.
